Biography

Dr. von Lockette recieved his B.S. in enginering science from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and his masters and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1996 and 1999,respectively.  His research interests are in the development of materials and devices employing active material - elastomer composites for untethered (remotely powered) locomotion, actuation, and vibration control. He is also interested in multiphysics modeling of electro-magneto-mechanical behavior related to microstructure-property relationships for the design of tunable meta-materials.
